Amin Younes’ first-half screamer proved to be decisive as Eintracht Frankfurt continued their impressive form with a 2-1 victory over Bayern München at Deutsche Park Bank on Saturday.
Daichi Kamada gave Frankfurt an early lead with 12 minutes on the clock, tucking the ball away inside the penalty area after a superb low cross from Filip Kostic.
Just around the half-hour mark, Amin Younes doubled the lead as he beat Manuel Neuer with an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Bayern pulled one back in the 53th minute through Robert Lewandowski, who was nicely set up by Leroy Sané, but the German champions never managed to find the equaliser.
Frankfurt are now unbeaten in their last 11 league games, sitting fourth in the Bundesliga table on points with third-placed Wolfsburg,
League leaders Bayern are five points clear of RB Leipzig, who face Hertha BSC away from home on Sunday.
